Oliver Adams Limited was incorporated in April 1969, but the family interest in baking dates back to 1856 You can read more about the history of Oliver Adams in a new book - A Baker's Tale. This can be purchased in any of our shops at
£ 12.50. It tells the story of Oliver Adams Bakery from it's beginnings in 1856.



Thomas Adams is the Managing Director of Oliver Adams Limited. A direct descendant of the original Thomas Adams who started the family interest in baking in 1856


Oliver Adams head office is in Gladstone Road Northampton, where the bakery is also based. The bakery was extended in 1994 to it's present layout. The extension included a garage and warehouse, as well as construction of new offices, a move that cost the best part of seven figures. It was an investment for the future and has enabled the company to increase it's retail outlets from 12 to 28.


In 1994, Oliver Adams gained an award for the Company of the Year in the North Home Counties Region, for companies employing over 100 people and overall winner in the North Home Counties Region. This was a great achievement for Oliver Adams Limited. Janice Ferris collected the award, on behalf of the Company, from Sally Gunnell.

Oliver Adams Limited is part of the Northampton Bakeries Ltd Group and received it's Certificate of Incorporation on April 25th 1969.


Thomas Adams, Master Baker, is the Managing Director of the Company. Mrs Margaret Adams, Personnel Manager. The Company Secretary is Mrs Janice Ferris
